     AHERA/ASHARA Accredited Asbestos Project Designer Course Description

     California recently passed a regulation requiring all Asbestos Consultants to be certified through the Project Designer course.  This Program is designed to meet the needs of this regulation.   Specifically, the course will enhance their ability to properly access hazardous sites, generate abatement bids, and develop complete project specifications.  This course is three days in length, and subjects include, but are not limited to:

Background Information on Asbestos
Legal Implications, Insurance and Bonds
Designing the Asbestos Abatement Project
Safety System Design Specification
Budgeting and Cost Estimation
Writing Abatement Specification
Preparing Abatement Drawings
Contract Preparation and Administration

     Included in this course, participants will be expected to write their own specification using the information obtained in the classroom.  Certification is awarded upon the successful completion of the written exam

AHERA/ASHARA Accredited Project Designer Refresher:

     A one day secession designed as a yearly refresher course for the Project Designer course.  Technical improvements and changes in regulations are discussed.  Refresher certificate will be awarded at the end of the 8-hour review session.  Call (619) 495-0298 for class schedules.
